Grandpa's can be such push-overs. Grandma wants a picture with the horse. Another one? Really? We already have an electronic photo album of the horses that could fill four hard drives.
"But it's going to be Jansen's first birthday soon, so I want a picture with you, Dundee and him."
A picture of Jansen? Well that's different. We can always use more of those.
So we trundled off to the barn. I gladly took the halters to the gate to fetch the two boys, Dundee and Trace, who were both waiting in anticipation of their mid-day snack. With their halters only partially installed, they both walked leisurely up to the hitching post, with me following along. It's supposed to be the other way around but what the heck, they know the program.
They wolfed their grain and were munching on hay by the time parents of The Chosen One drove up. Mariah was ready with the camera. Dad hauled The Chosen One out of his car seat and handed him to me. Bonnie put cowboy hats on both of our heads. TCO didn't quite fit in his. Every time he turned his head, the hat stayed in the same orientation.
We took a few pictures of grandpa holding TCO and the horse, a few of grandma in the mix, and then put TCO on Dundee's back. Bonnie wanted a better background, so she lead Dundee on a walk. TCO bobbed and bounced on his back as I held on to his bib overalls, but the hat didn't move. It looked almost as though the hat was gimbaled. The video below tells the rest of the story.
Take a picture with TCO, aka Jansen? Anytime. Any place.
