An Update to "Technology Discourages..."

I discovered a comprehensive description of the phenomenon I refer to in my previous blog posting (Technology Discourages) from my conversation with my cousin, the data privacy expert, on the use of algorithms in social media. It is the subject of a book by Eli Pariser, who presented the topic in a TED talk in 2011. And I thought this was a fairly new realization... only on my part, apparently.
